Why are universities adopting Evelity? Proof in numbers

Written by Mathieu | Nov 28, 2025 3:51:38 PM

The start of every academic year is pivotal — first buildings, first classrooms, first steps on campus. The big question: “Where do I go?”

In 2025, five institutions — Galileo, Lyon 1, Lyon 2, Lyon 3 and the Sorbonne Nouvelle University — chose Evelity to answer this question in a modern, inclusive and universal way.

The verdict is clear: regardless of the campus type, size, age or level of communication effort, Evelity generates immediate usage, autonomy and satisfaction.

And the data speaks for itself…

1. Galileo - Campus Delta: orientation on a new campus made easy from day one

Context: an entirely new campus

With 3,600 students all discovering a new site at the same time, Galileo faced a specific challenge: to enable everyone to find their way instantly in a 100% new environment.

Results: an exceptional adoption rate

  • 1,664 unique users

  • 46.2% adoption rate - a record, perfectly logical: everyone was discovering the campus

  • 5,900 map explorations, or 3.5 per user

  • 776 guided tours launched

Why it works: new campus + clear communication

Evelity was integrated into the welcome tour. The benefit is immediate: students don't have to waste time deciphering a new place, and the school eliminates the "disoriented" phase of the new school year.

➡️ What Galileo proves: on a new campus, Evelity becomes the reference tool from day one.

2. Lyon 2 - Porte des Alpes: the "large campus" effect amplifies usage

Context: a huge site, 26 buildings, 10 km of walkways

With its 27,000 students, Lyon 2 is a campus where distance and dispersed locations naturally generate a need for assistance.

Results: impressive adoption

  • 2,166 unique users

  • 8% adoption rate

  • 10,918 map explorations (5 per user)

  • 1,914 guided tours launched

Communication: a key success factor

Stickers, posters, kakemonos, back-to-school events and social network posts triggered an explosion in usage from the first week of September.

➡️ What Lyon 2 proves: the larger the campus, the more indispensable Evelity becomes - and the data confirms it.

3. Lyon 3 - Multi-sites: when growth takes hold over several years

Context: deployment spread over 3 years, 3 different sites

Lyon 3 first equipped the Manufacture des Tabacs (2023), then progressively the Quais (2024) and finally all sites.

Results: highest volume adoption ever

  • 3,557 unique users

  • 12.7% adoption rate - out of 28,000 students

  • 21,323 map explorations (6 per user!)

  • 2,387 guides

Structured communication for student integration

This campus has integrated Evelity particularly well into its welcome program:

  • stickers, wall plaques, posters, TV spots, social networking posts

  • participation in open days and induction days

  • inclusion in student publications and on the website,

  • recurring communication.

The result: massive and lasting adoption, year after year.

➡️ What Lyon 3 proves: the more integrated and continuous the communication, the more Evelity becomes a natural reflex for students.

4. Université Sorbonne Nouvelle: immediate adoption on a modern campus

Context: a demanding, busy campus

With 15,000 students, including 4,000 newcomers, Université Sorbonne Nouvelle has a modern, densely-populated campus where orientation plays a central role in the daily experience.

Results: a highly encouraging user dynamic

  • 634 unique users

  • 4.2% adoption rate

  • 1,794 map explorations

  • 229 directions launched

Evelity has rapidly become a practical tool for finding your way around the 317 points of interest and pathways on campus.

Communication: a mobilizing lever

Thanks to posters and flyers distributed on site, students immediately adopted the application, generating peaks in usage from the very first days.

➡️ What Université Sorbonne Nouvelle has proved: Evelity immediately finds its place as soon as it is made available, even on a contemporary campus already well structured with well thought-out signage.

5. Lyon 1 - Rockefeller Campus: regular use on a dense, historic campus

Context: an old, complex campus

With 15,000 students, the Rockefeller site is an architecturally dense complex, with historic buildings and major flows linked to the healthcare sector.

Results: solid, consistent usage

  • 1,052 users

  • 7% adoption rate

  • 5,426 map explorations (5 per user)

  • 742 guided tours launched

Communication: direct impact on adoption

Posters, kakemonos and information points made a major contribution to the increase in usage from the end of August onwards. The effect is visible: peaks in usage coincide with times when students need to find their way around quickly (CM, TD, mock exams, etc.).

➡️ What Lyon 1 proves: even on an old campus, students use Evelity every week, because the tool simplifies recurrent travel.
